  • This is where I am writing from. Spring has arrived, and after a few hours of rain the trees and bushes exploded with a million light green buds as a proof of what is coming. A week from now, I return to my day-work after ten months of parental leave, ten months of love and chaos with my kids, ten months of a very special kind of freedom. I will miss this state of being, but I will bring the energy into everything that I do. #parenting #spring #writing #ljungsbro #linköping
  • Writing a novel is a lot harder with small children about. Living is a lot harder without. There is a time for everything. #writing
  • No one boost one’s confidence as a (self-proclaimed non-spammer) ”digital marketing expert” with a generic gmail address. It seems my Swedish content lacks quality, if there is only help to be found. #writing #blogging #email
  • I am quite digital when it comes to tools and routines, and it works well. However, even though I try, my ideas for novels are spread over my mind, hard drive, and online services like a toddler’s dinner (almost not literally). Those ideas are precious so this higgledy-piggledy routine ends now. This (nicely retro) cardbox along with Google Keep will mirror each other and, hopefully, bring order to the chaos of future writing. #writing #cardbox
  • In a moment of memento mori, realising I only have some 2 000-3 000 books left to read in my life, I borrowed a book about speed-reading. 45 minutes later, the book is read. My reading pace is probably ok, but some new techinques can’t hurt, can it? #reading #speedreading #mementomori
  • Yesterday I revisited a novel I’ve been working on from time to time. As I read I felt as if the text was written by somebody else, someone who made me laugh, made me interested in the story, and urged me to read on. I’m generally quite hard on myself so this feeling was unfamiliar. #writing
  • Do not place your desk in the middle of your room, Stephen King suggests. In the soothing company of many, many others, the desk rests in corner, by the window. #homeoffice #writing #homelibrary #books (The portraits of Joyce Carol Oates, Tove Jansson, and H.P. Lovecraft are painted by @mariaackerfors.art.)
  • ”Spring is coming! Spring is coming!” My 3yo rushes towards her grandmother, little feet dashing over damp pavement and chunks of ice. Her excitement is my excitement, although spring probably is some frozen nights still. #spring #winter #ljungsbro #linköping
  • The small one accidentally fell asleep while leaving the larger one at pre-school. Who am I to deny him? #seizethemoment #reading #robcowen
  • My kids wake me up at least once every night. Last night, after finding the lost stuffed cat or providing some gruel or whatever reason, I stopped and stared at the night. The fog low around the lights, the trees almost out of sight, the view from my office window completely transformed into ... dreams? Even mundane sights of paved walkways can stir imagination in the right (lack of) light. #night #ljungsbro #winter
  • My life isn’t that noir, I guess, but with the light shining into my bookclad room, the shades sneak up on me. This is as Poe as I get. #writing
